Well, its been a long road with all the medicals, ECG stress tests, vision/peripheral, drug tests etc but with them all completed and submitted to Indy Car we are green flag! I received my Indy Card Hard today and with that we are now able to compete in the Star Mazda Race Series, support races for Indy car!

I want to take a moment to thank all the advertisers on the race car; SEKO CONSTRUCTION, KESA HOLDINGS, SAM and KEIL, PERMASTEEL GROUP, PERCON PROJECTS, XPS CONTRACTING, AFTER 8 INTERIORS, DISCOVERY AIR INTERNATIONAL, AIR TINDY, PRIORITY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS, WEB MECHANICAL, PROVINCIAL ELECTRICAL, ARTISAN AUTOBODY, TUNERWORKS, A1 MEDIA, SIGRID IMPORTS, POWERUP LIUBRICANTS / THIXSO GREASE. without you all this just does not happen!

And also thanks to my crew, Milan, Nivs, Myles, Jes, Jr. without you guys, this race effort doesn't happen either!

And also thanks to Scott, Tracy and Peter at Star Mazda. And last but certainly not least, Ben and Telo at Worldspeed!

KUDOS TO YOU ALL...

Sadly, any testing that was contemplated on the Edmonton Indy car track prior to the actual IZOD INDY CAR, STAR MAZDA series stop will not be happening! Seems politics and ego's have come to the fore...

Regardless, thankfully the NASCC has secured a test day (Saturday May 26th) at the Air Force Base, NAMAO just north of Edmonton. This is an air strip layout so although it's not the Indy track, it is similar to the Indy track in the fact that it is runways joined together to make a track! Long straights ,low down force, high speed turns with only a few 1st and 2nd gear turns. That will allow us to test the new rockers, push rods and wheel rates / motion ratios that Star Mazda has incorporated for the 2012 competition year. Thank you NASCC and thank you Namao!

Recently ROBERTSHAWRACING acquired a Formula 1000 race car for it's "Rent a Ride" "Arrive and Drive" program. Featuring a STOHR F 1000 chassis, powered by a George Dean Racing Engines GSXR 1000 cc and fully complimented with prototype bodywork produced by BRD (Brittsan Racing Developments). The car features trigger shift, AIM data, Ohlin dampers, BRD prototype rear diffuser, side pods, pod floors, BRD dry sump. The car, last raced by Archer Racing (Taylor Archer/ driver) at Portland International Raceways where the car broke 145MPH! A full 8 MPH faster than the latest purpose built F1000 race cars also competing!

A recent quote on the cars performance:

" This car really is quite quick. Three top three finishes including one win in the four races it competed in last year. And another where it should have won. This car will run at the front anywhere it goes but I hope it stays in the West where the racing in F1000 has become very competitive (eight different winners in 10 races in 2011)"

The car currently is in tear down mode, receiving a complete mechanical review, new paint scheme and should be ready for rent sometime in July of this year. Renters can expect to contest the race car with the following; a full crew, data review, video capture and review, the latest in chassis setup equipment, choice of tire compound, choice of race fuel and hosting compliments.

Progress and preparation of the F1000 race car will be posted as we get closer to the first available race weekend. Interested racers are encouraged to contact ROBERTSHAWRACING with regard to available dates, rental rates, terms and conditions through the web site.

Hello everyone,

Yes, you read it! Recently ROBERTSHAWRACING attended the Alberta Seniors Citizen Housing Association (ASCHA) trade show in Sherwood Park Alberta on behalf of race car advertisers Priority Communication Systems (PCS) and Care Call. I know a race car doesn't have much much to do with seniors housing but PCS and Care Call wanted to share some fun with many of their existing clients and hopefully develope new relationships with people they have yet to do business with! Betty was in in the booth of course and she looked great!

We had a ton of people sit in Betty, get the lowdown on the race car and all the things that happen when racing a car at speed and I had a great time doing it. I am sure all who sat in Betty also had some fun.

It was a huge time, fun to be had by all which I hope accomplished for PCS and Care Call what they wanted. The booth got a ton of interest and I am sure we helped brand the names of PCS and Care Call to another level.

Not only was it fun but, you gotta love this, PCS and Care Call won the best booth at the trade show! Now that's a good start to the race season without even turning a wheel on the track. Lets hope the winning ways continue in the 2012 race season.

I want to thank James Perry, President of PCS and Care Call for believing in race car advertising. I'm sure he was pleased to see just how well it can work when packaged and presented the right way. Also want to thank, Terresa, Marnie, Duncan and Blake for helping Betty and I in the booth. Set up, tear down and everything in between. It was a great few days to be sure. Just great.

OK, I know it doesn't sound to exciting for a race team to be attending something like a Seniors Housing trade show but don't be fooled! Seniors, and not just in Alberta, are participating in life well beyond what society expects them to! And frankly, ROBERTSHAWRACING is flattered we can be a part of it. We will be attending the ASCHA (Alberta Seniors Citizen Housing Association) trade show in Sherwood Park Alberta on behalf of Priority Communication Systems and Care Call (a personal emergency response system provider). We will be displaying the race car and looking to bring industry professionals and seniors into our booth, introduce them to Betty (our race car, that's her name), hopefully, sit them in Betty, get a few pictures, explain about racing and all the things a driver must do when at speed (the stuff you don't see on TV) and have a ton of fun! We might even Cialis or her sister

Very few of the public get close to "real race cars" and even fewer sit in them so Priority Communication Systems and Care Call want to change that and we are happy to help out. Priority Communication Systems and Care Call simply want to have all who attend, to have some fun and ROBERTSHAWRACING is up for the task.

I can't tell you how excited we are to attend and if it's anything like our past non related "race" trade shows it's sure to be a real cracker! It's going to be huge! So, if your in Sherwood Park, Edmonton, or surrounding area, drop by, be a Priority Communication Systems, Care Call guest, have some fun, get a picture, sit in the race car... pretend... be a kid again, live life! Or better... re-live life! We will be at the Sheraton Coast Plaza Hotel March 26 -27th. We sure hope to see you and if you show up.... we know you will have some fun courtesy of Priority Commnication Systems and Care Call.
